creative zen stone 2GB MP3 player w/built=in speaker May 13, 2010 G. A. Williams (ASHEVILLE, NC, US) I love this little IPOD. This is my second one because unfortunately my first one was eaten by the dog. I had searched many sites for this little gem. The speaker/sound quality is great and it is very user friendly. Easy to load music and to recharge. Very simple yet very powerful. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys music without all the bells and whistles that most just don't need. Simple in design... my only advice. Warning: Dogs enjoy this for a chew toy..lol
great little player May 10, 2010 melodius45 (NW Washington) I use this for my audio books and it's just the right size for the yard or the car or just walking around the house. The sound is fine and plays well. It's easy to use, even for a beginner. Plays wma as well as mp3 files.
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!!! April 20, 2010 Cool Red Duff (Allentown, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this a few weeks ago on Amazon.com, and it was on sale for only $15.99. That was the BEST $15.99 I EVER spent. The thing is SO SMALL and convenient, plus, it's REALLY easy to use. You charge it up on a USB port, which takes about 2 hours, and you're ready to go for a good 10 hours. Plus, and this was the MAIN REASON I bought it, the built-in speaker is FABULOUS!!!! When I read reviews on how loud the speaker was, it forced me to buy it, and I am SO THANKFUL that I did. It's the LOUDEST speaker I've ever heard ON a little MP3 player. I was going to buy another one, just to have a second one around, but by the time I was ready to buy it, the price went up to $[...]. NOT that it's NOT worth $[...], because it most DEFINITELY IS, but when you've just paid $15.99 for something, going up another [...] bucks is a little steep. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!!!!!!!
one killer stone February 12, 2010 Central Bank And Co (FIGHTGIRL in Hutchinson, KS.) For running this stone is the best. Unlike the Ipod, cumbersombe is the IPOD, the stone is easy breazy. LOVE IT/
Who needs iPod? Moreover, who needs Apple? January 27, 2010 G. Sutter Jr. (Birmingham, AL) This is one of the coolest little electronic devices I have ever seen. I have owned mine for about a year now, I guess, and it has been a very good value, especially when I compare it to the equivalent iPod--the Shuffle. I remember about two years ago when my brother-in-law showed me his Shuffle; I was totally blown away by the size (the original was even smaller than this Zen Stone) and the sound quality. But then last year, I came across the Creative website and started comparing those two products. The Stone had 2 GB; his Shuffle had only 1 GB. The Stone (the one I got anyway) had a built-in speaker; the Shuffle did not. The Stone had a sliding button to skip to the next playlist; the Shuffle did not. But most amazingly, the Stone cost me $42 with free shipping, while his cost him more than a hundred dollars! Now, this is not necessarily comparing apples to Apples (hehe) because he bought his when the Shuffle was still very new, but if you compare the two now, you'll still see a big difference.
All that being said, I will mention one negative: The back button on my particular player will no longer allow me to scan through a track in reverse by holding it down. It now only immediately goes back to the beginning of the track no matter how long I hold the button down. But it's still at a really good price, so I would just replace it with another if I were going to buy another of the same capacity.
I would definitely recommend this mp3 player to anyone that just needs an inexpensive device to hold and play a few songs.
