I didn't want these, but I bought them.... July 22, 2010

When I saw these, I didn't like them. So when I bought these, I didn't want them. I'm not a huge fan of hip-hop or rap, and I didn't know who Lady Gaga is, but I was looking for a pair of earbuds or headphones with good bass for mostly alternative and indie tunes and these happened to be on sale. (I've been considering Dr. Dre's Beats Studio headphones, but dropping $300 on headphones that I haven't had time to sample is irrational to me, although I know that $300 isn't much compared to, say, Grados that are $1,600+.) As for these Heartbeats, I'm not an audiophile, but when they're fitted correctly, I was surprised to have gotten bass that sounds as good as a concert that I most recently went to (and if you're curious, the band that I saw was Mew). My complaints about these are: 1) the clarity is slightly smudged, but then again, I'm listening to a 320kbps MP3; 2) although I'm using the smallest-sized silicone tips, the earbuds tend to fall out of my ears; 3) the earbuds tend to sound bad when they are ill-fitted; 4) I've had the product for less than a week and I've already wrecked the aesthetics of the jewel-like design by stuffing these into my pockets, so that fuzz has filled the creases of the design. (I figured that a somewhat bulky case as protection for these isn't necessary since it's a Monster Cable.)

I got these as a birthday gift for my girlfriend and of course I got to play with them a little bit after she allowed me to take them from her ears. They are stylish and resemble jewelry, my gf cannot wear earrings she has plugs so its nice to see a little twinkle come from her ears. The flat cable it genius it prevents from it ever knotting up. The changeable ear buds are great so that you can find the perfect size so they don't pop out randomly. The holing case is cute, small, and durable as heck aside from a few smudges on the case I doubt the headphones would be damaged inside the case. Even the box and the note from Gaga on the side was all artwork, I love you Gaga and my heartbeats only for you (and my gf if thats cool).

I don't normally buy artist' novelty merchandise, but these earphones are an exception. I was looking for a set that provided excellent sound quaility, good durability, and looked nice.
Lady GaGa's Heartbeat earphones gave me just that. The noise reduction is amazing; you know how you can't hear how loud you're talking when you have music playing in your ears? This is how the Heartbeats earphones are--when there isn't any music playing. They are so amazing that they help block out the bothersome sounds of work and life. Playing music with GaGa's earphones is like having a stereo play in your ears; it's loud, clear, you hear the bass and all softer background music that might be lost on other earphones.
I've had these earphones for several weeks now and I have yet to have them tangle up on me; other sets of earphones have tangled multiple times!
Let's not forget to mention that these earphones are incredibly stylish. I've been stopped many times and asked about their awesome design. You can find other "pimped out" earphones in stores, but these are hard to top.
The only problem I have with these earphones is that they are in ear; that is, you stick them right up to your ear canal. Typically, regular earphones just rest in the crevices of your ear. GaGa's do not do this, and I have had to push the triangular chrome part of it into my ear at an angle in order to keep them from falling out (having them stick straight out, like in the Bad Romance video, seems impossible). Even then, they can fall out very easily with a light tug of the cord. The cord is surprisingly heavy. This problem could be remedied through smaller in-ear buds for Heartbeats, which would allow for them to get "stuck" in my ear canal.
The price is also a bit much; $100 plus tax and shipping is a bit ridiculous for earphones simply because they bare GaGa's iconic name. However, if you're looking for a quality product that will last you a long time, these are definitely worth the buy. It would be ridiculous to not buy these if you found them at a lower price.
Regardless of the occasional trouble of keeping them in my hearts, these are amazing earphones that have revolutionized the way I hear music. In order to keep these expensive earphones damage-free, I wear an older pair of earphones when I work; the quality and noise reduction is easily noticeable.
This is a definite buy for fans of fabulous music and/or GaGa
