Before I purchased this, I looked everywhere to see if this required power, whether AC or DC. I wanted to use this in my car as well as the house. I looked in the Amazon description and on Belkins website. Also, from the pictures it looks like there's only the audio cable running to it. Well, I received this today and it does require AC power! Sent it right back (now out return shipping).

This product is a great idea gone wrong.
Reception is about 2 feet. Audio quality is terrible. Enough said.
Don't waste your money. This product is literally junk.
Shame on you Belkin.

I have purchased many Belkin products in the past, all with great success (wifi routers bluetooth adapters etc). Which is why I put faith in this one even though there were numerous complaints... I decided to give it a go. This was the most disappointing thing I've purchased in quite some time. My new Macbook Pro (2 mo old from Apple) sits 8' 3" from the front of my Pioneer receiver, with the Belkin in front of it. There is nothing in between the two other than air. If someone walks by the living room to the kitchen, the sound cuts out. If the cat farts, the sound cuts out. Belkin ought to be real ashamed of themselves for this stupid ass thing. If you read this review, you should really understand that this thing sucks in a mean way. I am returning it and will try Pioneer's version or maybe the Sony. Maybe Bluetooth in general just sucks.
And to think that I had to wait a couple of extra days even for this thing, that ticks me off even more. I'm gonna write a review on my blog about this stupid thing. Seriously, if I can't get signal from 8 ass feet away, how can they be serious about selling this? I think I'm putting more faith in negative reviews on products from this point forward. Maybe I just got a bum one, but I kind of really don't think so.
With all that aside, the unit itself is attractive, small, and provides two separate cables (rca & 3.5). Aesthetically, it's a very nice unit.
As always Amazon comes through with a nice shopping experience. Glad I ordered other things with this order so I have other things to play with while cussing Belkin.

I'm not sure how anyone could consider the audio quality of this unit acceptable. There is quite a bit of distortion in the high end. Cymbals sound like wind chimes, kind of like mp3s encoded at a very low bitrate. Stereo separation is poor as well.
Range is about 6-10 feet if there is nothing between you and the receiver. If someone happens to walk between the receiver and the sender, the unit hiccups or cuts out. When the unit connects again, the sound slows down effectively lowering the pitch of the sound until it catches up.
I made the mistake of purchasing the unit at [...], which essentially has no return policy, so I've wasted my money.
If you have any ear for audio quality, don't bother with this unit.

Was a little concerned that streaming Pandora via BT wouldn't work well due to older reviews that I've seen, but maybe the faster processor in the newest generation of iPod Touch has solved the problem. Have played regular music and Pandora via BT without a single stutter or hiccup and with excellent fidelity. Range is excellent as well, works anywhere in the house as well as on the back porch.
