Good value for the money January 22, 2010 Robert D. Herndon Sansa is easy to load songs and very small so easy to take on the airplane. Earphones are OK, but tend to make my ears a little sore after longer (> 1 hour) periods of listening. Navigation can be frustrating as the display will "go to sleep" on you.
Love It January 11, 2010 Laura Walkup (West Virginia) I bought this for my Mom for Christmas and it is easy to use and the sound quality is great! She loves the fact that it is super-portable and barely takes up any space in her purse.
Bookmarks, please January 9, 2010 Christopher J. Coyle (Pennsylvania) Pros -
* It's well-built and durable. I've had a bunch of Creatives, which were easier to use, but they all crapped out mechanically or electronically in three to six months.
* The clip is a great idea. Contrary to other reviews, it's solid and durable.
* Battery life seems fine to me, but I play mostly at low volume, and I've never actually measured it.
Cons -
* No bookmarks. I listen to podcasts in bed while drifting off to sleep. With my Creatives, I got in the habit of setting a bookmark every few minutes. If I nodded off, I could easily go back and pick up pretty close to where I was when last awake. With the Clip, all you can do is wade through a fairly awkward menu and set a sleep timer for, say, 10 minutes (After 1 year,I still can't do this in the dark, my benchmark for good design). If you manage to stay awake for longer than that, the thing shuts off and you have to laboriously repeat the process. And, when you wake up, now you have to manually rewind ten minutes to be sure you haven't missed anything. Plus, sometimes you just want to bookmark a specific spot in the file for future reference.
* There's no "play one song / podcast and then stop" mode.
I realize that I may not use my player the way others do, but how hard can it be to write firmware that allows these simple features?
worked for a year and a half January 5, 2010 sieg6529 (Central Ohio, USA) It was a good little unit, easy to use, tiny, cool looking...and then it just stopped working today. It's fully charged, but it turns itself off after a few seconds. I tried hooking it up to the computer, but even that functionality is busted. Oh well, it was good while it lasted.
Nice little player-Great price! January 5, 2010 Puppet Man (Surf City, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this player on BLACK FRIDAY for a fantastic price and I am very pleased with my purchase. I got this one for my wife because I purchased another one a little over a year ago and have had no problems with it. It can be a little tricky loading music directly from your computer so I recommend using the software it came with (Rhapsody) or something comparable to load it up. You can use the Rhapsody without signing up for their service after jumping through a few hoops to set it up.
